I became a Manta Member in recent weeks and my Manta page is telling me to get my manta badge on a website. Since I cannot put it on my Scentsy page, I hope it works here!

New vehicle?
Looking for a new vehicle is the craziest thing. I drove a Honda Pilot the other day. Fantastic vehicle, nothing really wrong with it, other than the price tag. I was thinking about ordering the vehicle and to meet the minimum requirements for it to fit my Scentsy business, it's gonna be roughly $35,000.00 which is a large chunk of money. Granted, we are saving for a decent downpayment, and will be trading the van in but I'm just really wary of the price. I've been scouting other vehicles out, looking at a Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain, and the Honda CRV. I'm not really keen on the CRV or the Equinox, simply because with the sloped hatch on the back it really reduces usable storage in the cargo area. So I guess it's really down to the Terrain and the Pilot. I don't know what a Terrain is like since nowhere in town has one on their lot. It has a lower price tag but I really like the Pilot. Lower price tag, or the vehicle I really like?

Trouble in Paradise?
The events of the last week are interesting to say the least. Who decides to go and get engaged to a guy she's never met? I think that people are becoming way too trusting nowadays. Want love? Go online, there's a website for that and you never have to meet the person until the day you want or even the day before you get married. You don't know what that person truly looks like, because it is sooo simple to post a fake photo. You don't truly know that person because you've never met in person. Maybe your a vain person and could "never" love someone with a defect. It's simply ridiculous in my eyes. Other things this week, I just really can't wait to get my own place again. Just because how I run my mini-household isn't how you run your household doesn't mean that it is wrong. Take your opinions and keep them to yourself.

Could it get any more frustrating?
Ding Ding.....
My email goes off letting me know "YOU HAVE MAIL" ( took me some time to get this set up...so fun). It's an email from the Don, the guy we are working with to price out a house. I'm looking through this and finally get to the total. $173273.00 when all the changes are said and done. That's really not too bad when you think about it. I could pay the same amount on a house here in Williston and then in a few years finally have the money to update everything. So I'm looking at two options. 1) buy a house that's built to what I want already and won't have to do anything to for $173273.00 just purchase land to make the grand total 213273.00 or 2) buy a house that looks like it just arrived on the time travel transport from the sixties for about the same price and then have to spend the time and effort to get it the way I want it and possibly end up paying more. I'm really thinking option one because then I wouldn't have to spend the next few years getting it the way I want it, not to mention it's ONLY 685.97 A MONTH! I think we may just be able to afford this.

Say what now?
In thinking about the events unfolding around us locally, statewide, nationally, and even globally, I thought it would be appropriate to start a "Captain's Log" of sorts. One article that stuck with me today is about the Zodiac and how things are "changing". I logged into my Facebook today to find many of my friends vowing their allegiance to their beloved Zodiac sign. Curious about what was causing the uproar, I went to msn.com to find out what was going on. I started reading an article that said that a major Minnesota paper had "discovered" a one-month gap in the Zodiac. When in truth the Zodiac which we follow here in the western civilizations is a tropical zodiac, meaning it adheres to the seasons rather than which constellation the sun is in at any given point in time. Which means that last week when I considered myself a cancer, I was right and nothing has changed this week. Also, if we are expected to go by the constellation that the sun was in on the morning that we are born, then I am sure that any person who currently identifies themselves with a particular sign is still that sign. I was born a cancer, I will die a cancer.
But enough on my thoughts, what are your thoughts and ideas on the topic? If your sign is supposed to change will you embrace it wholeheartedly or are you going to vow your allegiance like so many of my friends?
